The Founder’s Story
Where It All Began
Zarapie was born from a simple but enduring belief — that wood, shaped carefully by hand, does not need embellishment to be beautiful. Prabina Sahoo founded the company in 2021 with the conviction that India’s woodworking tradition deserved a place in the world’s finest retail shelves.
Growing up surrounded by the workshops of Odisha, Prabina witnessed firsthand the extraordinary skill of local craftspeople — and the systemic gap between their output and the international market. Zarapie was built to close that gap: a structured supply partner for global buyers, rooted entirely in handmade, solid wood production.
Today, Zarapie works with retailers and sourcing partners across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond — supplying collections in sheesham and mango wood that are as consistent in quality as they are honest in form. .
